Aiming High

Suffolk County Council has been given almost £7 million pounds, over three years, to transform short breaks for disabled children and young people.

Young people reaching high

The money has been given to Suffolk through the Aiming High for Disabled Children’s Programme. Suffolk is one of twenty-one council’s in England to receive the money and was chosen after a rigorous selection process.

Disabled children and young people have told us that they want to be able to do what their non disabled peers do and Suffolk has lots of exciting plans!

Suffolk County Council hosted the first Aiming High for Disabled Children Providers Conference on the 10th October 2008. This wide-reaching event invited organisations, groups, charities, businesses and individuals who either currently provide or have the possibility of providing short break services to disabled children to come and find out about the aims and resources of Suffolk's Aiming High Programme.
